Hebron Community Center for Youth and Adult Education

A Palestinian non-governmental organization.
established in the city of Hebron in 2019,by a group of young activists in the West Bank,

with the aim of bringing about positive change in social, economic and environmental laws for the benefit of marginalized groups. We base our work on the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, national and international human rights standards and global environmental conventions

A cultured Palestinian society, in which the values ​​of justice and equality are rooted, and in which public freedom and human rights are respected to become part of its cultural, social, economic and environmental fabric.

Our Values

Spaces for Youth

Through awareness-raising activities, a digital advocacy campaign, a safe platform, and the launch of youth policies and initiatives

Summary

The project targets youth the ages of 18-35 years old from the refugee camps in the governorates of Jericho and Jerusalem, "Aqabat Jaber Camp, Ain Al-Sultan Camp, Shuafat Camp, and Qalandia Camp."

 

The targeted camps suffer from violations of women's rights, the absence of gender equality, and violence against women based on gender. Social and violence towards feminists, and the exclusion of women from civil, community and political participation due to the prevailing customs and cultures and the poor performance of youth institutions in defending women’s rights as human rights.

General goal

1- Creating a community environment within the targeted camps capable of combating social and cultural norms and creating a supportive platform for the rights of women, and feminists and their issues.

 

2- Involving and integrating the youth who aim to create a feminist thought and vision that is applicable and practiced within youth institutions and is in line with the reality of the camps and the Palestinian cause.

 

3- Developing local regulations and policies in youth institutions in camps that respond effectively within the framework of feminist thought, and integrating these policies into youth and women's institutions.

Sub-goals

1- Creating a community environment within the targeted camps capable of combating social and cultural norms and creating a supportive platform for the rights of women, and feminists and their issues.

3- Developing local regulations and policies in youth institutions in camps that respond effectively within the framework of feminist thought, and integrating these policies into youth and women's institutions.

Expected results

1- Positive social and cultural changes that support the rights of women, and feminists and their issues within the targeted camps.

 

2- Crystallizing a feminist thought and vision that can be applied and practiced in 8 youth and women's institutions in the targeted camps.

 

3- Policies and institutional systems with an effective response within the framework of feminist thought that have been launched and integrated into youth institutions in the camps.

Direct beneficiaries

1- The project generally targets 120 youth between the ages of 18-35 years old

 

2-5% of the participants are people with special needs "youth"

 

3- The involvement of 8 institutions "4 youth centers, 4 women's program centers"
